Ethereum (ETH) Captures Most of Recent Real-World Asset (RWA) Expansion while Tron (TRX) Dominates Weekly Stablecoin Inflows

On-chain finance continues to draw capital at a steady clip, and the latest weekly figures from Token Terminal illustrate a clear split in where that money is landing.

Real-world assets (RWAs)—tokenized versions of funds, U.S. Treasury bills, credit products, equities, and commodities—showed concentrated growth on Ethereum, while stablecoins, the dollar-pegged instruments that serve as the primary settlement and trading layer for most crypto activity, saw their largest single-week addition on Tron.

According to the data, the circulating market capitalization of RWAs issued or hosted on Ethereum rose by $553.1 million over the trailing seven days.

That single-chain increase outpaced the next two gainers by a wide margin. zkSync Era recorded the second-largest expansion at $126.1 million, while BNB Chain added $68.7 million.

Ethereum’s weekly gain was therefore more than four times larger than the runner-up, reinforcing the network’s longstanding position as the primary venue for tokenized traditional assets.

This concentration is consistent with Ethereum’s broader role in the sector. Institutional issuers and asset managers have repeatedly chosen the chain for its liquidity depth, established custody solutions, and the ability to compose tokenized products with existing decentralized-finance infrastructure.

Even as other networks post incremental gains, the absolute scale of capital flowing onto Ethereum in any given week tends to remain larger, particularly when the inflows involve regulated or semi-regulated instruments such as tokenized money-market funds and Treasury products.

The $553.1 million figure represents fresh issuance or net inflows rather than pure price appreciation of already-deployed tokens, underscoring ongoing demand for on-chain representations of off-chain yield and collateral. In parallel, the stablecoin market posted a distinct pattern of growth.

Tron’s stablecoin market capitalization expanded by $633.6 million during the same seven-day window.

The next largest increases were substantially smaller: OP Mainnet rose by $64.1 million, X Layer by $61.9 million, and Base by $57.8 million.

Tron’s addition was nearly ten times the size of the second-place chain, highlighting the network’s continued dominance in low-cost dollar transfers, especially those involving Tether’s USDT.

Tron’s advantage stems from a combination of near-zero fees for stablecoin transfers, high throughput, and deep integration with payment and remittance use cases across emerging markets.

A large share of USDT supply already resides on the chain, and weekly expansions of this magnitude typically reflect both new minting and net migration of balances from higher-cost environments.

While Ethereum still holds the overall lead in total stablecoin value, the incremental flows continue to favor Tron when the priority is speed and cost rather than composability with complex DeFi strategies.

The two data points illustrate complementary rather than competing dynamics. Ethereum remains the preferred settlement and issuance layer for higher-value, institutionally oriented RWA products whose weekly growth can exceed half a billion dollars.

Tron, by contrast, continues to absorb the bulk of retail and payments-oriented stablecoin activity, with single-week additions that can surpass $600 million and dwarf those of other Layer-2 and alternative networks.

Both trends contribute to the same underlying development: an expanding share of traditional and digital dollar financial activity is occurring on public blockchains, tracked and standardized by platforms such as Token Terminal.

Market participants will watch whether these weekly patterns persist as new RWA products launch and as stablecoin issuers adjust supply across chains. For now, the numbers show Ethereum capturing the majority of recent tokenized-asset growth and Tron securing the clear majority of new stablecoin capitalization.
